How a demolition job runs
Doing demolition right starts before anything comes down. Here's how we keep it safe, legal, and clean from the first swing to the final grade.
Site walk & scope
We measure the structure, foundation, and disposal, then quote it flat before we mobilize.
Permits & disconnects
We pull the town demo permit and coordinate water, gas, and electric shutoffs so nothing's live.
Hazmat check & abatement
Older buildings get tested for asbestos and lead — we line up licensed abatement when it's required.
Takedown & processing
Excavators with thumbs and breakers bring it down and process it safely and efficiently.
Load-out & recycling
Clean concrete and metal are separated for recycling — lower tipping fees, cleaner site.
Grade & clean
Backfilled, graded, and left ready for whatever gets built next.

Local knowledge
Demolition across Eastern Connecticut
Demolition is where a lot of Eastern CT projects actually start — clearing what's there to make room for what's next. We take down buildings and structures, break out and haul away concrete slabs, foundations, and old pools, and do selective demolition where only part of a structure comes down. Our excavators run thumbs and hydraulic breakers to knock down and process a structure efficiently, load it out, and leave a clean, graded site ready for the next phase — whether that's a new foundation, a parking lot, or open ground.
Doing demolition right starts before anything comes down. We coordinate utility disconnects with the water, gas, and electric companies so nothing is live when the machine reaches in. Older structures get checked for regulated materials — a non-historic addition or a mid-century building can carry asbestos or lead, and it can't legally come down until that's tested and, if needed, abated. We handle the permitting, line up licensed abatement when it's called for, and keep the paperwork straight so the job passes inspection.
What leaves the site matters too. We separate clean concrete and metal for recycling rather than landfilling everything, which keeps disposal cost down and keeps the job cleaner. Debris is hauled in our own trucks, tipping fees are quoted up front, and the site is graded out when we're done. From a single garage or a failed inground pool to a full commercial building takedown, we scope it by structure size, foundation type, and disposal so the number is clear before we mobilize.
