Plainfield's developed core sits in the Quinebaug and Moosup river valleys, which means a lot of work here runs into high water tables and old fill from the mill era. The village neighborhoods in Central Village and Moosup have tight lots, mature trees, and aging utility runs — we bring compact excavators and hand-dig around the unknowns rather than guessing. Out toward the Sterling line the ground opens up into glacial till with ledge, where septic and foundation work is the bread and butter.
