Pool Removal & Fill-In

An inground pool nobody swims in anymore is a liability, a maintenance bill, and a fenced-off hole in the middle of your yard. DJ Roberts runs the work himself with our own equipment, so the pool comes out and the yard goes back together on one continuous schedule.

There are two ways to do it. A partial removal breaks down the top portion of the shell, punches drainage openings through the bottom so water never traps in the old vessel, and fills the hole in compacted lifts. A full removal takes out the entire shell — concrete, gunite, fiberglass, or vinyl liner and walls — along with surrounding decking, and hauls it all away. Full removal costs more effort but leaves nothing buried, which matters if you may ever build over the spot.

The difference between a pool fill-in that stays flat and one that turns into a sinkhole is compaction. We place fill in lifts and compact each one rather than dumping the hole full, then cap it with a graded, topsoil-ready surface. Many Connecticut towns require a permit and inspection for pool demolition, and we handle that paperwork along with the pump-down, the deck and fence removal, and the debris hauling.
