Concrete septic tanks are tough, but decades of use, ground movement, and Eastern Connecticut's freeze-thaw winters eventually catch up with them. Roberts Excavation replaces septic tanks in Plainfield and the towns around it — cracked concrete tanks, corroded steel tanks on older properties, collapsed lids and baffle walls, and tanks too small for the house they serve. DJ Roberts has run this work owner-on-the-machine since 2010, licensed and insured in Connecticut (Lic. #NHC.0014110).
A tank swap is a one-to-two-day job in most cases: pump and remove the old tank, cut the excavation to the new tank's spec, set it level on a proper base, connect the inlet and outlet lines, and get the health district's sign-off before backfill. Rocky ground and tight access — common around here — are what we plan for up front, since the excavator, the pump truck, and the delivery truck all have to fit on the site.
Replacement is also the moment to fix sizing. Connecticut ties tank capacity to bedroom count, so if the house has grown since the original install, the new tank should grow with it. We check the numbers as part of a free estimate and tell you plainly whether you need a tank — or whether the real problem is further down the system.
