Water Line Installation

From the curb stop or wellhead to your foundation, the water service is one line you want installed once and never think about again. Roberts Excavation installs and replaces water lines throughout Plainfield and Eastern Connecticut, burying them below the frost line — Connecticut's frost depth runs around 42 inches, so services here are typically set near five feet — with proper bedding and compacted backfill. Every job starts with a Call Before You Dig markout through CBYD 811, because the fastest way to ruin a water line project is to hit the gas or electric running next to it. We trench to depth, sleeve the line where it crosses driveways or other utilities, and coordinate the connection — whether that is a tie-in at the town main with the water utility's inspector present, or a new run from a private well into the house.

Replacement work is just as common as new installs around here: old galvanized services corrode and split, and a line set too shallow decades ago can freeze in a hard winter.
