Roberts Excavation takes on commercial and municipal excavation throughout Eastern Connecticut: retail and restaurant pads in the Plainfield and Killingly area, industrial work along the Route 6 and I-395 corridors, subdivision development, and town infrastructure projects. Owner DJ Roberts has run the company since 2010 and stays hands-on from the pre-bid site walk through final grade. Because we run our own equipment, mobilization and schedule stay under our control instead of a rental counter's.

Commercial sites in Connecticut live and die by the stormwater plan. CT DEEP's MS4 rules apply to most sites over the disturbance threshold, and detention basins, bioswales, and infiltration systems are baseline scope on modern civil plans. We build to the stamped drawings, coordinate any field adjustments with the site engineer, and keep erosion controls and inspection points documented so the project doesn't stall at sign-off.

Typical scope runs from building pad cuts and parking lot subgrade to on-site utility trenching, stormwater structures, and roadway prep. We bid from your site plans, flag unknowns like rock quantity up front instead of burying them in change orders, and give you a schedule with milestones you can hold us to.
