Not every demolition job means knocking the whole thing down. Sometimes an addition has to come off a house that stays, a fire-damaged wing needs to be removed before rebuilding, or a building needs to be gutted to the studs for a remodel. That is selective demolition, and it takes more care than a full takedown. Roberts Excavation does this work throughout the Plainfield area and Eastern Connecticut, pairing machine work with hand demolition where precision matters.
The job starts at the separation line. We coordinate with your builder or remodeler on exactly where the removal stops, protect the structure that remains, and make sure utilities crossing into the demolished section are safely cut and capped by the appropriate trades before anything comes apart. Because we take down only what is marked, the framing, roofline, and finishes on the keeper side stay sound and ready for the rebuild — and since 2010 we have worked alongside general contractors across the region who schedule around exactly that.
Storm and fire damage do not wait for business hours, so we offer 24-hour emergency response when a damaged structure needs to come down or be made safe quickly. On planned projects, we sort debris as it comes out, haul it in our own trucks, and leave the site clean for the next trade. Estimates are free, and DJ walks the job with you before we quote it.
