Standing water in the yard, a driveway that washes out every spring, a basement that takes on water in a hard rain — those are drainage problems, and they are solved underground. Roberts Excavation installs storm drainage throughout Eastern Connecticut, from a single buried downspout line in Plainfield to full catch basin and culvert systems for builders across Windham and New London counties. It has been part of our sitework since 2010.
Good storm drainage is mostly about grade and outlet. Water has to be collected where it gathers — catch basins in pavement, channel drains at garage aprons, footing drains at foundations — then carried in pipe with consistent fall to somewhere it can legally and harmlessly go: daylight on a slope, a drywell, or an existing storm system. Eastern Connecticut's rocky, slow-draining till makes the outlet question matter even more, because the soil here often will not just soak water away.
We build residential and commercial systems alike: solid and perforated pipe, catch basins and yard drains, driveway culverts, drywells and galleries, plus regrading to move surface water while the pipes handle the rest. Estimates are free, and we will tell you honestly when a simple regrade will do what a full pipe system would. On larger projects we coordinate with the town on culvert sizing and any approvals the work needs.
