A pool hole looks simple from the lawn chair, but the dig is where an install goes right or wrong. Roberts Excavation digs inground pools throughout the Plainfield area and Eastern Connecticut, working directly from your pool builder's dig sheet. Fiberglass shells, vinyl liner kits, and gunite pools each carry their own tolerances, and we cut to them. Since 2010 we've dug pools on flat suburban lots, sloped yards, and backyards you'd swear a machine couldn't reach.

Connecticut's swim season is short, which makes scheduling the real constraint. Pool excavators book up by early spring, so winter calls get first pick of spring dig dates. Fiberglass installs are the tightest coordination job of all: the shell arrives on a truck with a crane already scheduled, and the hole has to match its footprint exactly, with a properly compacted base at the right depths. We confirm dimensions with your builder before we ever cut sod.

Access sets the pace on a pool dig. An eight-foot gate with a clear run means full-size equipment and a fast dig; a six-foot gate under mature trees means smaller machines and more hours. We walk every site before quoting and tell you straight which kind of job yours is. Excavated material gets hauled away or stockpiled on-site for your own grading, whichever you prefer, and estimates are always free.
