Pomfret Excavation Services
Pomfret is the Quiet Corner's affluent, scenic heart — rolling hills, prep schools like Pomfret School and the Rectory School, and some of the densest horse-farm and equestrian acreage in Eastern Connecticut. Mashamoquet Brook State Park, the Air Line Trail, and the Route 169 scenic byway run through it. At about 12 miles, Pomfret is a town we cover regularly, with particular experience in its equestrian work.

Equestrian and estate excavation in Pomfret
Pomfret is genuine horse country, and a real share of our work here is equestrian — riding-arena bases built for drainage, paddock and pasture grading, run-in and barn pads, and the drainage systems that keep all of it rideable through a New England winter. The town's larger estate parcels also mean high-end residential site work: foundations, walkout basements on its rolling slopes, long landscaped driveways, and septic systems sized for substantial homes.
The hilly terrain that makes Pomfret beautiful also brings ledge to many building sites and makes sloped lots strong walkout-basement candidates — we evaluate grade and rock with a test pit before quoting. Mashamoquet Brook and the town's many streams put wetlands buffers in play often, and Pomfret's land-use board and the Route 169 byway protections mean careful coordination. Septic permitting runs through the Northeast District Department of Health.
